GAME TESTING STRATEGY & PLAN

I will test my game to make sure it works while I create it. I will also test it after I have finished coding to make sure it works fully as planned. I shall do the testing myself but I shall also ask Stacie
To test certain parts of it. I shall be a test buddy for Stacie
Here are the tests:-
Test 1:  The game must have clear instructions for the user.
Test 2: The game must be error-free.
Test 3: The game must have the meaningful variables of ….
Test 4: The game must be documented well in my blog so that I can come back to it at a later date to make alterations to it if needed.
Test 5: Each collecting sprite needs to have 3 states: - normal, bulging, slim and named appropriately.
Test 6: The program has to keep a score of all the collected sprites.
Test 7: the score and life should change
Test 8: backgrounds should change welcome screen, game over screen and main playing screen
Test 9: the main sprite should change according to what happens in the game

Test 10: when you loose all your lives it should say game over

Stocking costumes

these are my Three main stockings one is a normal stocking, the second a empty stocking and the third a full stocking

the stocking is the main character and I will soon make scripts so that the stocking moves around it
will catch the falling object and when the objects hit the stocking it will become a full stocking but if it is hit by a spider it will lose points and become slim and empty again.

Scratch background

In class I have started my own game on scratch I have decided to call it Christmas catcher because the aim of the game is to catch the falling Christmas ornaments.

first I started off by designing the main playing screen with a Christmas tree and a present then I added on a gentle blue background with brown flooring.

I tried to make the background interesting but at the same time not too bright and bold for the eyes so when the game is played it won't distract the player. I had to design and create the background myself other wise if I used an already made background it would be known as copy wright. I also stuck to a Christmas theme.

Stocking scripts

Finally i have finished the Stockings movement and now I can get the stocking to move about and will be able to catch the soon falling ornaments.

I have also set my score to 0 and my life's to three if I am hit by a spider my life will go down by one if I miss an ornament my score goes down by five but if I hit an ornament my score will rise by one.

FINAL GAME

This is the final image of CHRISTMAS CATCHER it includes falling objects such as Christmas balls, spiders it includes a main character with three costumes.

the aim of the game is to catch the falling objects but not the spider if you get touched by the spider you lose a life you start with 3 lives and a score of zero the more and more ornaments you catch the more points you gain although if you miss and ornament you lose 5 points.the game does get slightly harder as you continue to play.

Spider costumes

This is the Spider costume I used the scripts from the falling ornaments but again changed the coordinates of where it starts, falls and lands so when it touches the stocking the stocking will loose a life and go slim.

ornaments

This is the ornament it will fall down so that the stocking can attempt to catch it when making each ornaments I copied my previous scripts and pasted them into a new ornament except I changed the coordinates so that the ornament would fall in a different direction.
